5 ways to disrupt racism

"Silence is as bad as approval"

After my last post about "silence is not neutral" I was reminded of a video by Racial Justice Network

It is short and simple and helps with the "but what can I do?" feeling

1 - Don't be a bystander
2 - Film it and report it
3 - Stick around for the victim
4 - Tackle the culture of racism
5 - Actively fight racism

I think 1, 3 and 4 made me think most about how I can respond.

"The world is a dangerous place to live;
not because of the people who are evil,
but because of the people who don't do anything about it."
Albert Einstein

Call it out - when you see it in your timeline, call it out.  If people want to defriend/unfollow me because I point out that "no one is offended by Christmas, it's just Britain First trying to widen their page reach" so be it.  But actually I've discovered they don't unfriend, they listen.

"Whenever one person stands up and says,
'Wait a minute, this is wrong,'
it helps other people to do the same."
Gloria Steinem
