Kernow 2017

Kernow is the Jamboree in Cornwall for Scouts, Guides, Explorers, Senior Section. It was revived in 2013 and is coming again summer 2017.

The Leader in charge of the Creative Zone has been in touch with me and asked for your help:

She is writing her own production that the participants will help create throughout the week.



She needs Guiding stories, or some figure heads of adventurers throughout history who have links to the Guiding movement. The sub camps for the jamboree are Solar, Amazon, Frontier, Polar, Ocean and Mountain. She wants to create the sections of the performance around the different terrains and show how being part of Guiding or Scouting can send you onto these exotic and exciting locations!

Do you have any ideas? Can you name inspirational people, adventurers that were part of the Guiding movement?

So who is the Ed Stafford of Guiding?

He went to Scouts in my area. Did one of your Guides grow up and wander off to the Arctic declaring 'they may be sometime'?
