Running Gait Analysis
>> Thursday, December 09, 2010
AuntieGwen told me the reason why I was getting March fractures was because I needed to visit the wee beardy boy and because I didn't want to make her all shouty, off I poddled.
It's great! The wee beardy boy turned out to be my daughter's primary school teacher's brother-in-law and he lives in the next village to me!! (Was that TMI or do you now know me well enough to know that I would talk the hind legs off a donkey?)
I tried on at least 5 pairs of different trainers and I was filmed in each whilst I ran on a treadmill, he analysed my gait in detail to work out which pair would be best for my running style. Turns out I'm a free flowing neutral with a high arch, I paid less money for a pair of good running shoes than I would pay at the average sports ripoff. I was expecting to have to pay a lot more than that so I bought myself a new thermal running top to make up the difference. Pure women shopping logic. *high five's with AuntieGwen*
The service was fantastic, the chap was really helpful and he wasn't on the hard sell. If you don't get your shoes from him the analysis is £20. Free if you buy your shoes there. Seriously, if you're in the Midlands area and enjoy your running and love your feet I really recommend the Leicester running shop.
I liked that I got full service in the same amount of time I spend just trying to attract the attention of a disinterested teenager in the chain stores. He was also seriously interested in me and my running, the first person ever!
