Take time to give - it is too short a day to be selfish

Take time to be friendly - it is the road to happiness

It is a while since I read this in a book at Our Chalet. It was written by the ladies of the Juliette Low session of 1959.

I sat here, alone with a cup of tea just watching the sun go down over the mountains, not thinking too hard, just gently pondering life, the universe and everything.  It all seemed so clear, so reasonable.

I was only sat there because I took the time to volunteer.

Sometimes it seems like a treadmill of effort, constantly draining time but should I choose to reclaim that time, would I use it more wisely?  I doubt it, what time is better spent than investing it in the world's future.  And that is exactly what volunteer youth worth is.
