Rangers Real Henna Mehndi

>>  Wednesday, February 17, 2016

I showed you the temporary mehndi we did a while ago, but following on from this one of our  Rangers ran a henna night, so mehndi it was again.

I was a bit worried about henna and know some people can have skin problems with it. Also the semi-permanency of it might cause problems at school so, for the first time in a long time, letters went home about it with details of the Henna to be used.

But, as the girls pointed out, a high percentage of the girls at at least one of their schools have mehndi for varying reasons at any one time.  Mehndi is a decorative art popular in the Indian subcontinent. It is used as a temporary tattoo by women celebrating at parties and weddings.

The henna chosen was a natural one with good reviews

The girls really took their time and did some beautiful designs.

Once the paste is dried, it is brushed off leaving the pattern in Henna staining the skin.

It was a really calm, relaxing night and well led by the Ranger.
For the older girls I really recommend this.
